  • Tiffany Johnson, 37, was on a run in Queens, NYC, when Delaguna threw the bottle at her and said 'Go back to Africa, n*****', video released by NYPD shows

  • 'It's a hate crime. It's not acceptable. She has to be [held] responsible for her behavior,' Johnson said previously

#10  Lorena Delaguna apparently has an extensive history of petty crime and that may be why she has been charged with a hate crime.

Otherwise, 'hurled a bottle' which didn't hit anyone is a pretty thin basis to even make the primary change (harassment).

#3  Personally, I object to the whole concept of "hate crimes". You don't assault, beat, rape, murder someone because you really love them. You do it because you hate them. So all violent crimes are essentially hate crimes.
