#1 "Universities have rejected adopting the definition on the basis of academic autonomy and freedom of speech, according to The Guardian." Critics of the definition argue that it stifles criticism of Israel. The definition includes a clause defining anti-Semitism as “Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.” Freedom of speech on one side, censorship on the other. |
