| Police should rein in assembly of armed militias, Spokane City Council proposal says |

| [Spokesman] In response to weapon-carrying people at recent protests, a new Spokane City Council proposal would ask police to stop armed militia groups from gathering in the city. Though nonbinding, the proposed resolution would request that Spokane police enforce existing state laws against the public assembly of private militias. The proposal follows several protests, which began following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis earlier this year and drew armed militia groups into downtown Spokane. |

| #5 It does undermine civil order, civil order the government wants, not what the people want. The 2nd amendment is there to keep the government in check. Spokane's council being upset is living proof our constitution is strong. |

| #4 This is why I'm not thrilled about the left's new public enthusiasm for guns, as so many "conservatives" and "libertarians" are. If the usual pattern holds, their guns will be viewed as "essential" while everyone else's are designated as contrabrand. |

| #2 Exceptions will be made for their armed militias. For them, guns are like any Constitutional right. They should have them and you shouldn't. |
