Biden coronavirus adviser wants US to distribute vaccine globally before it's available to all Americans
2020-11-11
“We’re from the government, and we’re here to harm.”
[FoxNews] A government may give 'some priority to its own citizens, not absolute priority,' Emanuel wrote with co-authors

Oncologist Dr. Zeke Emanuel, one of 10 advisory board members named to Democratic President-elect Joe Biden's coronavirus task force, has pushed the U.S. and other countries to not hoard a coronavirus vaccine.

Emanuel, who served as a key architect of the Affordable Care Act under the Obama administration, co-authored a paper in September in which he encouraged officials to follow the "Fair Priority Model," which calls for a "fair international distribution of vaccine," rather than what he and his co-authors characterized as "vaccine nationalism."

Emanuel and his co-authors advocated for focusing on preventing premature death, the consequences of school and business closures and reducing general transmission of the virus.

Emanuel came under focus over the weekend after a 2014 essay he wrote, in which he outlines why he doesn't want to live past 75, resurfaced.

"Since 1960, however, increases in longevity have been achieved mainly by extending the lives of people over 60. Rather than saving more young people, we are stretching out old age," Emanuel wrote.
Democrats put other nations people ahead of Americans and it wouldn't be last time either. Treason.

#19  How do Germans afford free stuff? According to my German ex-wife they live in smaller houses at a slightly poorer standard of living and rationalize it as superior choices.

Both her father and step-father fled Germany to start their own companies elsewhere so they probably had something to do with her opinions on that matter.

#18  Very strange, suddenly everyone is covid crazed.

Like trying to recapture that March Magic.

Surprised I haven't seen a remash of the meme, Veterans had to go overseas to win their war, all you have to do is wear a mask and stay home.

By weird, the 'testimonies' read like Yelp reviews, because that's what people do and how they write when in outright misery.

To me, its all a week early - was expecting this for a Thanksgiving cancellation event.

#17   The cost of Coronavirus testing ranges from no-cost to $352 out-of-pocket average at an urgent care clinic to $2,321 in the emergency room."

That's batshit crazy, sorry. In Bavaria, they are (almost always) free.

I just had a test done at the university lab, because I had a cold and Mr. Wife got nervous — I passed with flying colours. Our private insurance policy covered the entire cost.

Final daughter, who is on Medicaid (government health insurance for the poor), needed the test done before her echocardiogram, also paid nothing out of pocket for the test, which she passed. She also paid nothing out of pocket for the echocardiogram, but that is a different discussion.

Nothing you wrote in your first sentence above is untrue, European Conservative, but in practice very few are paying out of pocket for the test, no matter how it is priced on paper.

#16  Seems like a good way to launch a thousand conspiracy stories about testing the virus on forigners first. Likely outcome is more hate America, and certainly it'll be blamed on Trump somehow.

#15  "Who pays for all the free stuff in Bavaria, European Conservative? "

Health care insurance companies do. And they benefit from less costs if infected people know that they are infected, go into quarantine and thus infect less other people.

#14  Pre-paid works too.

My feelers have turned up more 'The COVID is gonna get you unless you PPE right meow.' this morning, than the entire last week.

In fact, I'm seeing a lot of names I've never read saying 'I caught it, and it is awful!' for the very fist time; numbers of them, and that include the people I know who had it and zuckbook and never said anything.

Very strange.

#13  Who pays for all the free stuff in Bavaria, European Conservative?

Every time I hear, "It's free" I say, "You mean it's included".

#12  #3.. Zeke Emanuel is a lockdown enthusiast which is why Biden has been saying what he would do about Covid if president.

I'm 78 and I am not going anywhere.

#11  So they spent the last 6 months going, "Ahh! All these Americans dying because Trump!"

Now they are like, "Nah, fuck these Americans, and fuck Grandma and Grandpa."

#10  So, they are saying the vaccine is possibly unsafe and/or ineffective and want to test it further on other people (especially sensible if the virus isn't as bad as they have been advertising?)

#9  What does a COVID-19 test cost in the U.S.?

There are currently two methods to test for COVID-19: testing for an active infection (standard PCR) or testing for past exposure (antibody test).

#8  I hate to say it took me a minute to get the motivation for this. It's not to help the people of other countries, but to ensure the transnational progressive "elite" get the vaccine ahead of the average American.

The doses needed for the US population, spread across the world, won't be enough to warrant any place going back to normal -- and will without a doubt be focused on the "essential" (which means the powerful and connected).

#7  Reuters - Global stocks gain, bonds fall as vaccine-inspired rotation ploughs on

LONDON/SYDNEY (Reuters) - Stocks gained and bonds dropped on Wednesday as news of a working COVID-19 vaccine outweighed worries over surging infections, fuelling rotation towards cut-price losers from the coronavirus pandemic such as travel stocks.

#5  Pfizer and BioNTech (the German developer who partnered with Pfizer but doesn't get mentioned often in the U.S.) already have a $1.95 billion (€1.64 billion euros) contract to deliver 100 million vaccine doses to the USA. They also have agreements with the EU, UK, Canada and Japan.

Lots of them about these days.

We're living through one of the most wretched eras in the history of our Republic

#3   just get the flu shot and you will be fine.

He doesn’t want anyone past the age of 75 to be able to get flu shots, either — better y’all get on with dying sooner rather than later. What a vile, vile man he is.

Not if they have their way with the election laws.

Biden coronavirus adviser wants US to distribute vaccine globally before it's available to all Americans

Hey Dems, help me, I'm confused. Didn't the corrupt, compromised, pedophilic dotard you elected to the presidency promise to help America get over the China plague?
