But there are plenty of established publishing houses hardnosed enough to be happy to take on the good professor’s little project — and if not, I have no doubt the independents will be lining up to do it for a considerably smaller take of the profits.

#2  In a normal world if 'staff confronted management' over a routine business decision, they would all be 'former staff' within an hour. It's not like you can't find people to replace them, especially in light of all the government-forced unemployment going on now.
