2020-11-30
[KhaamaPress] The International Committee of the Red Thingy (ICRC) in Afghanistan confirms an aid worker has been kidnapped in Maidan Wardak province.
If he is a Christian, or works for one, he is fair game — sheep to be sheared — for any Lion of Islam who stretches out his hand to take him. Them’s the rules.
Roya Mousavi, a spokeswoman for the International Committee of the Red Thingy, told the media that the employee had been kidnapped by unknown individuals on Saturday.

She did not provide further details on the incident.

But Juan Pedro, Head of the ICRC, tweeted that an ICRC kidnapped staff, was stopped on his way while coming back from Kabul, the individual is released and has safely returned home.

Security challenges have already arisen for the International Committee of the Red Thingy staff. The committee has repeatedly suspended its activities in Afghanistan in recent years due to the insecurities.

Earlier, Talibs kidnapped 28 civilians in Maidan Wardak Province.

According to a released statement by the provincial police, 28 people who were on the route from phase I of Behsud to Kabul city, were kidnapped on their way.

These civilians were stopped and kidnapped in Siya Petab and Pul-Mehrab areas in the Jalriz district of Maidan Wardak province on Wednesday, MoI stated.

No further details were provided on the abductees, and the Taliban
