Protesters take over hotel in Olympia, WA | |

Thanks to ryuge [Facebook Post] Olympia PD is responding to the Red Lion Downtown (the old Governor Hotel) for a report of a disorderly group of protesters. Some are reportedly entering the establishment and attempting to “take over the front desk”. The staff are being advised to shelter in place while OPD mounts a response. We do not have additional details on what the group is protesting. 12:45 pm - There has been no additional talk on the scanner about this incident. We have no further details. 1:30 pm - We are attaching a news release from a group called “Oly Housing Now”. We have no connection to this group, we are sharing the information as directly as it was provided.

#1 An Just like that 20 Homeless people had ANOTHER place to stay. It seems this is just another STAGED for Media event. Olympia Wa. Homeless Shelters: Providence Community Care Center, Drexel House, Crossroads Housing, Mason County Homeless Shelter, Olympia PD Jail and Mason County Jail. BTW: As a teen and having slept under bridges and other places while traveling the lower 48 in the Early 70's for 6+ months. I understand and have seen the difference between Homeless/Jobless vs. Bums, Lot Lizards, traveling predators, gifters, drifters and the criminal L.A.R. types. |
