Trump sued for Capitol attack under ‘Ku Klux Klan Act’
2021-02-17
[IsraelTimes] A senior Democratic congressman sues former US president Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
, accusing him of violating the 19th century "Ku Klux Klan Act" by supporting the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.

Bennie Thompson
D, of course, representing Jackson, Mississippi and environs...
accuses Trump, his lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and krazed killer groups the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers of violating the 1871 act by supporting efforts to stop Congress from certifying Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Candidate for president in 2020. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier...
as the new US president.

Thompson, who is Black and the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, cites a law originally created to protect the rights of African Americans after the Civil War and the end of slavery.
Goodness. They must be really desperate to keep The Donald silent if they’re trying something this silly.
The lawsuit is filed in federal court in Washington two days after Trump was acquitted of supporting insurrection in an impeachment trial in the Senate.

#15  accusing him of violating the 19th century "Ku Klux Klan Act" by supporting the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.

Trump didn't support the riot on Jan. 6th. One would have to be an idiot to get this out of his speech.

#14  Another frivolous lawsuit to be tossed. Better start prosecuting these frivolous lawsuits as they clog up the judicial system.

#13  the legality matters not. this is just creating a talking point so the media can associate Trump with Ku Klux Klan.

Actually, thanks to the bright lights on the Michigan Court of Appeals they can now rely on the Aesop Clause, aka "a man is known by the company he keeps."

That sturdy principle of common law cited by the Michigan judge who wrote the opinion in the Appeals Court's overturning of the conviction for libel in the case of a man who had been falsely accused by the Detroit News as a "leader of the Ku Klux Klan"-- a complete, total fabrication.

#12  Omaing Stalag1261, that is what they tell themselves but that doesn't make it accurate or supportable by facts.

Throw in an LBJ quote combined with Dem failures in Urban areas and you see a different type of plantation..

#11   A lot of people do know that southern racist democrats converted to the GOP in the late 70s and early 80s.

#10  And the folks arrested for this are turning out to be leftists? Not Trump supporters. Gonna be a show in stupidity.

#9  I believe Bob Grorong1136 is correct.

Trump's lawyers should use every opportunity to point out the Slave Owners=Democrats and KKK=Democrat=Democrat.

A lot of folks may not be aware.

#2  While I'm not a lawyer, I'm having trouble understanding how a civil tort of this nature (which this looks to be), brought by a legislator apparently outside of the normal prosecutorial process (for them), citing law normally prosecuted by the Feds, has standing in any courtroom not presided over by an Obama appointee. Or did I just answer my own question?

David Bonior, redux - the political harassment continues. These cocksuckers need to pay for this but 'Pubs refuse to fight.
