HADRAMOUT, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Militants of Al-Qaeda organization on Wednesday took control of a number of fuel stations belonging to the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC)’s branch in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, sources reported.Al-Qaeda operatives closed ‘Shibam’ and ‘Al-Houta’ stations for selling oil derivatives, which belong to the company, by force of arms in Hadramout valley, the sources said.
The sources confirmed that Al-Qaeda militants threatened the workers of the two stations with blowing the stations up, if they were operated, so that they would be limited to supplying their vehicles with oil derivatives.
The areas of Hadramout Valley are witnessing a heavy presence of Al-Qaeda militants, without any military action from the leadership of the so-called “First Military Region” loyal to Saudi-led coalition to pursue these elements.
