US Marine Twitter account to 'take a knee,' regrets targeting Tucker Carlson: 'We can do better'
2021-03-16
[BIZPACREVIEW] A Twitter account for the II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group did an about-face over the weekend, offering an apology for what it previously described as "aggressiveness" in slamming Fox News host Tucker Carlson online.

The hoopla began last week when Carlson responded to a speech from President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences...
announcing that the U.S. military is designing body armor for women, creating "maternity flight suits" and updating hairstyle requirements.

Carlson criticized what he saw as misguided priorities and the left spun that concern into an attack on U.S. servicewomen. Democrats like Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth hit back, as did the Pentagon.

Defense Department press secretary John Kirby virtue-signaled about how "diversity of our military is one of our greatest strengths," while the II MEF IG Twitter account said, "Get right before you get left, boomer."

"We are human and what was intended as a tweet in support of our female Marines and sisters serving in uniform was clearly not aligned with our standard practices or an appropriate representation of the Marine Corps," the account tweeted Saturday.

The tweet was in response to Newsmax TV host John Cardillo tweeting: "An official
@DeptofDefense @USMC account singling out and threatening an American citizen."

Carlson was not criticizing women in the military, but the social engineering.

"So we’ve got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It’s a mockery of the U.S. military," he said, in response to Biden.

"While China’s military become more masculine as it’s assembled the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become — as Joe Biden says, more feminine, whatever feminine means anymore, since men and women no longer exist. The bottom line is, it’s out of control, and the Pentagon is going along with this. Again, this is a mockery of the U.S. military and its core mission, which is winning wars," Carlson added.

#8  My fear is that Biden and/or his handlers want to import illegal aliens so they can serve in the military because natural born US citizens will no longer volunteer when they realize they'll have to take orders from people like John Kirby. Then we'll have an army of foreigners who don't know any better.

#7  If a millennial in the Marine corp had done this to a democrat, IE CNN host, they would be out on their ass for public execution.. Fuck the Marine Corp Information Group as they crossed the line of their profession and dragged the great Marine Corp into generational political condescending bull. They clearly have a lack of competent leadership there, making the entire Marine Corp of great warriors look bad.

#5  Note the stupid and pseudo-hip, Kaepernickian slang: "take a knee," "do better," "get right," "boomer."

Is this how the Marines' mktg / communications leaders really talk these days?

Whatever happened to "the few.. the proud"?

#4  Take a knee?

Seriously?

He so woke, he can't counter someone who called him woke. The ranks deserve so much more than General Jenners. Boomer. What are we, 13 years old? Got left before you got left?

#3  Re politicization:

#2  This article highlights politicalization and destruction of the traditional stance of the military's chain of command with the SecDef representing the forces to the President for his guidance on military readiness and force activity against declared and potential adversaries of the usa.
The present political administration will likely not "defund the military" like the police, it will likely advocate for less funding proportionally, and encourage further "social realignment", which will result in a less effective force.

#1  I'd rather see them take a stripe, forfeit one month's pay, and be confined to quarters for a month. Article 15 for Conduct Unbecoming...
