#1 for about 500 years, Konigsberg was an independent city or part of Poland or part of Prussia or of Sweden or of Germany. Post WWII it became part of the Soviet Union and was named Kalingrad. Post Soviet collapse it became part of Russia but is disconnected from the rest of Russia, surrounded by other countries. Russia has troops stationed there. Some in general population are quite anti Russia. Some pro Russia but anti Putin. |
