Saudi Defense Ministry: 3 Soldiers Executed for High Treason

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The Saudi Defense Ministry announced on Saturday the execution of three soldiers for high treason.

In a statement, it said they were accused of cooperating with the enemy against the Kingdom’s military interests.

It said that the three had been sentenced to death by a specialist court after a fair trial.

The Ministry reiterated its faith in the military establishment in defending the Kingdom.
Al Ahram adds:
The ministry did not name the alleged "enemy" but the executions were carried out in the southern province bordering Yemen where Saudi Arabia has been at war for more than six years against the Iran-aligned Houthi movement.
