The 60-Year-Old Scientific Screwup That Helped Covid Kill

Many Thanks to ltop for discovering this!
[Wired] All pandemic long, scientists brawled over how the virus spreads. Droplets! No, aerosols! At the heart of the fight was a teensy error with huge consequences.
The short of it is the 5 micron aerosol argument is total BS and is based on some medical folk not understanding airborne physics and not understanding what their physics people told them for over 60 years.

Glad to read they have gone to cleaner safer holding tanks.

Because when I was doing IT SEC & Network call center installation work in England for a Major Airline back in the mid 90's. I got a Jump Seat invite visit by the crew that knew me due a few layover dinner gatherings in Gatwick.

In those days they dumped "waste" over the ocean to lighten the load and save fuel.

I my former life...
I remember reading a summary list of close to or just over 20 scenarios on how the USA could be quietly attacked w/o a bullet or Missile.

The simplest I saw as a International (China/Russia etc..) Passenger Jet dumping its Pre-infected fuel or waste water a few 1000 feet up over a city as it is coming in for it landing. The results not being seen for several days.

In fact it was proven viable about 20+ years ago when Passenger jets leaving India/Paki were dumping waste water over Eur-Asian while in flight . Locals were showing up oddly infected with non-regional area illnesses.

#9  In early May, the CDC made similar changes to its Covid-19 guidance, now placing the inhalation of aerosols at the top of its list of how the disease spreads. Again though, no news conference, no press release.

So a year of screeching about almost any kind of face covering was hardly more useful than hiding behind a window screen (which will collect dust, but hardly stops it).

Unexpectedly, for some.

#7  ..since they already let out they're not testing, just infect some of the hundreds of thousand "migrants", thoughtfully bused to big cities across America by the idiots in The Swamp.

#6  Has anyone seen any discussions on ballistic missile borne delivery systems? Or..... I know it sounds crazzy, contaminated space junk accidently falling onto the streets of NYC ?

Interesting job posting found here, and not the first of it's kind I have noticed lately.

#4  Fascinating article. Thanks 3dc.

Langmuir was growing increasingly preoccupied by the threat of biological warfare. He worried about enemies carpeting US cities in airborne pathogens. In March 1951, just months after the start of the Korean War, Langmuir published a report in which he simultaneously disparaged Wells’ belief in airborne infection and credited his work as being foundational to understanding the physics of airborne infection.

How curious, Randall thought. She kept reading.

Thank-you 3dc
The article was a good read and worth my remaining life-cycles to update my growing C-19 folder.

It is also makes the great point that when researching an issue never even assume any long established and cited foundational data is correct.

"... showed the trajectory of a 5-micron particle released from the height of the average person’s mouth. It went farther than 6 feet—hundreds of feet farther. A few weeks later, speaking to an audience at Harvard Medical School, Fauci admitted that the 5-micron distinction was wrong—and had been for years. “Bottom line is, there is much more aerosol than we thought,” he said. "

Note: Dr. Fauci declined to be interviewed for this story.
