| #1 not a very good summary yes Hamas has improved its rockets since the 90s but not so much since 2014 back in 2014 they were able to launch about 4k rockets in 40 days, about the same number as in the 11 day 2021 conflict back in 2014 Hamas was able to hit as far north as Mt Hermon which is actually further north than they got in 2021 Israel suffered about 20% of the causalties in 2021 as in 2014 (the latter has a ground attack on Gaza). We don't know about the Hamas+PIJ casualties yet but they also seem to be less than in 2014. We don't know about the extent of damage to Hamas's tunnel network but it is likely that the 2021 damage greatly exceeded the 2014 damage. The tunnel detection technology deployed by the IDF worked pretty well. Hamas put a lot of time, money, energy and prestige into building a naval attack force which was basically wiped out. The biggest success of Hamas is having numerous allies in the US, many of them elected officials and having much of the culture in the US on their side. |
