| [NPASYRIA] On Monday evening, a military base of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in the al-Omar oil field in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, was hit with mortar shells, while the Coalition’s drones bombed the headquarters of pro-Iranian groups on the western bank of the Euphrates River. "US Forces in Syria were attacked by multiple rockets," OIR front man, Col. Wayne Marotto tweeted. "There are no injuries and damage is being assessed. We will provide updates when we have more information," he added. The matter started with two mortar shells falling near the al-Omar oil field, so that the Coalition forces bombed points of the pro-Iranian groups in the town of al-Qoriya and the countryside of al-Mayadin, 25 km east of Deir ez-Zor, on the western bank of the Euphrates River, through drones, a military source close to the SDF in the area told North Press. "After that, the groups launched two other shells, one of which fell near the Coalition’s base in the al-Omar field," the source added.
