Sky News Shows Taliban Seizing Abandoned US Bases & "Treasure Trove" Of Weapons, Ammo
2021-07-08
[ZERO] Simultaneous to global headlines spotlighting the hasty "in the middle of the night" US forces quitting Bagram airbase for good, which briefly resulted in looting as Afghan security was caught by surprise, Sky News has aired exclusive shocking footage of the Taliban seizing freshly abandoned US bases (or perhaps not-so-shocking considering the constant follies of America's longest ever war).

"The Taliban are on the march and gaining territory at an astonishing rate," the Sky News segment narratives. "They smell victory," the report says. "They want to show us the treasure trove of military riches they seized with it."

#12  Yeah, that's got to be the long-term plan. "We told you not to pull us out. Now the Taliban are a worse threat than ever. We're going back in, and we're going to stay for 50 years this time."

It's got a lot going for it. You're a fool if you think there's no blowback from cutting off the military-industrial complex from its profits. They can and will kill people. It's nothing to them.

#11  The Taliban have a good propaganda operation. The Brits, as usual, are convinced that the Yanks are lucky, but hopeless retards with more money than sense. Maybe propaganda alone will help the Taliban win. But if it fails, they had better have supplies lined up. Because the odds and ends from the departure of US troops will need to go a long way to match the $5b a year Uncle Sam is throwing at the Afghan Army. Najibullah lasted 3 years after the Soviets left. He lost a good bit of territory at the beginning, but the lines stabilized, and the mujahideen could make no headway until Yeltsin finally cut Najibullah off. Najibullah literally ran out of gas.

#10  We were trucking out materiel for weeks, so one assumes that what was left behind was not the most important or was not easily moved.

#9  'See, they are dangerous and we need that Uzbek base!'

So we won't have to resupply them when the Chinese move in.

I kind of laughed; that wrong?

#7  And the reason we didn’t blow that material to atoms is…..

#5  This outcome was inevitable from the first day they set foot in that shithole. Should have left a decade ago.

All of it, and for what?

#4  After 20 years, no one saw this one coming. Indications and Warnings? No, nothing whatsoever.

#1  Hostage taking of US State Department employees and contractor personnel soon to commence.

Taliban likely appeal to international courts for reparations and damages.
