California deputy killed during hours-long hostage situation
2021-07-27
[NYPOST] A California deputy was shot dead and another wounded while attempting to free hostages being held by a gunman during an hours-long standoff, according to officials.

Kern County SWAT officer Phillip Campas — a Marine veteran — was killed while trying to storm a house in Wasco Sunday afternoon amid reports that hostages were "down," officials said.

Another SWAT officer was also hit, suffering "moderate" injuries, Kern County Lt. Joel Swanson told news hounds at the scene.

Deputies had first responded around 1 p.m. Sunday to calls of "possibly subjects down" inside the house — with "shooting in the background" heard in some of the 911 calls, Swanson said from the scene, about 25 miles northwest of Bakersfield.

"When deputies arrived ... a subject inside the residence began shooting at the deputies," Swanson said.

"The deputies at that time were not struck but took cover," he added, with the entire neighborhood locking down as the SWAT team was called.

The SWAT team attempted to enter the house just before 3 p.m. and "the subject began firing at them from inside of the residence," Swanson said.

"Two of our deputies were struck," he said, with union officials and neighborhood departments among those identifying the fallen officer as Campas.

#4  No death penalty but a year or two in the California state penitentiary system might make him wish there was.

Some Added Data:
The Ex-Husband/Murderer was violating a domestic restraining order and arrived armed with a AK-47 and handgun at the 1718 First St. address.
On arriving, one of the 3 victims upon seeing him, called 911 before being murderer.

The restraining order prohibited him from owning firearms. So once again a Criminal did not obey the law. The usual result being innocent citizens and LEO's died for the stupidity of Touchy-Feely Agenda Pandering Politicians.

The Murderer/Ex-Husband was a 41 year old male.
He proceeded to murder his family, which included the Ex-Wife, and 2 sons (24 & 17).

Just before 18:30 hrs, the murderer, still armed with the AK-47 rifle and a handgun, climbed on the roof where he was exterminated by deputies.

Given the Media's 100% censorship of Victim names and etc..
Lends me to believe a greater Agenda is the order of the day for reasons yet known.

What does any California murderer have to worry about?

NOTE: As of March 2019, all California executions have been halted by the far far far left Governor Gavin Newsom.

So if you are down on your luck, about to homeless and living on the streets, need medical care and treatments, starving, Pissed off with a Government official, a fellow worker/boss at a job or just want to torture and then kill a cheating spouse? Just murder someone and all your worries are covered by the taxpayers for the rest of your life.
