Living with the Achievement Gap
2021-07-27
BLUF:
[American Thinker] Equally evident is that we are endowed with different levels of skill and talent. Therefore, it’s downright disgraceful to mock billionaires as "policy mistakes," after all, entrepreneurship inherently leads to inequality.

Despite American Privilege, despite affirmative action, despite a multitude of DEI programs, despite massive assistance to help the needy, there remains an achievement gap. Unfortunately, pandering politicians pay no mind for fear of offending constituents’ sensibilities; when underperformance is addressed, it is usually in the context of inequality, rather than complacency. So many minorities succeed under meritocracy, without the necessity to be superhuman, that it undermines the progressive mantra of systemic racism.

Hopefully, those who accept personal responsibility will achieve equality in America’s middle class.

Emphasis added.

#4  ..they've been doing that for decades. Computerworld was a trade newspaper in the 80s. It often featured full column ads for ITs listing a long, very long small print of skills wanted in the applicant. Of course no one had all of those. It was simply a means to comply with the ritual to get foreign applicants to fill the jobs as no one in the feds various agencies would follow up and check the selected candidate skills vs the ads. They were destroying any incentive to spend years in technical education only to find no job out there. These were not liberal arts degrees without any practical applications.

#2  /\ "Promote" ...and continue to recruit the incompetent.

Yes, it's worked splendidly for nearly a half-century.

Promote the incompetent at the expense of the potential competitors, works!
