#13  Chinese power array engineers die of mysterious bat-borne virus unrelated to job site.

Unfortunately, this is a likely outcome when you site your ground stations next door to a wet market.

#8  A nifty space weapon! But very vulnerable to anti-satellite weapons.

Scenario:
China's power arrays 'malfunction' and accidentally destroy a major American city. Oopsie!
America retaliates by launching anti-satellite weapons (yeah, unlikely. but work with me here)
Huge debris field in geosynchronous orbit takes down the communication and observation satellites American military relies on. Mission accomplished - at least from the Chinese side.

#3  Why do I feel the first two of these genius payloads will fall inconveniently over European and American cities, brightly burning hunks of bullshit. And soon after the project will put on hold.

#2  Icarus was a fictional planned orbital solar weapon Power Station constructed by former North Korean colonel China and diamond magnate Gustav we will all be in our Graves. It appeared in EON Productions' 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day, largely as an homage to the Diamond satellite constructed by Ernst Stavro Blofeld in 1971's Diamonds Are Forever.
