#9 I'd say people (LEO) in the Dayton area are pretty jumpy right now. Why? The new strip club that's opening? |

#7 Remember touring Wright-Pat as a kid with my dad. We saw an XB-70 - rare bird - and other cool planes. No aliens tho... |

#6 Whoops! Premature posting, sorry. That’s some story, Mike. It’s good to know base security was on it as soon as the report came in of what turned out, thank goodness, to be only a live action exercise. |

#5 Good find, g(r)omgoru. I’m glad it was just overactive imaginations this time — I was very concerned last night, as my cell phone pinged with the report of the lockdown from my local television news station. Dayton is the next city over from Cincinnati. |

#4 ...Keep in mind a few years ago, the base authorities at Wright-Pat failed to coordinate a set of security and accident response exercises with one another....and when someone saw the SPs running around with weapons, and a seriously injured airman (hit by a car while jogging) brought into the Base Hospital, they put 2+2 together and got 22, calling in a possible active shooter at the Hospital. And in the best traditions of Murphy's Law, it got better - or worse, depending on your point of view. One of the SPs got it into his head that a door he was unable to open at the hospital (it was a supply closet, but there was no signage indicating such) was sheltering the non-existent shooter. So he shot it. Three times. Only then did people start to ask, you know, questions, but it was another hour before they got things sorted out. Mike |

#3 According the AFB base spokesman Bob Purtiman. No evidence of gunshots has been found. Note: This all started because 2 people "thought" they heard gun shots. Wondering Out Loud. Was this: a deliberate false report? a prank gone wild? or maybe (GOD forbid) a test of the response system for something planned for 9-11 remembrance related? |

#1 Recent bombing near FBI in Centerville Ohio about 25 minutes from base last week. Interesting. |
