Big Meat hits back at Biden administration for blaming inflation on industry
2021-09-15

#12  The Covid lockdown, which played havoc at the production end, and the massive move to shopping online that resulted from the shutdown, was part of it. Then President Biden squeezed domestic oil, leading to higher oil prices that drove up the cost of everything shipped from producer to consumer, and the result was guaranteed. Finally, the huge deficit spending bills added serious inflation to the mix. and here we are.

Thank goodness it looks like neither the proposed $3.5 trillion bill nor the proposed $1.? trillion bill will survive in the Senate, and possibly not in the House as well. And with more continuing to work from home for the next year or more, retail gasoline consumption — and car/truck purchases — will be reduced, while used cars will become more available as those working from home realize that for probably the next year they’ll need at least one car less than they’re currently supporting.

#11  Cost of hay went way up. Deisel went up. Bailing twine went up so hay went up. It's not hard to figure out.

#10  Spare parts are all gone

Know 3 hayers [men that cut and bale cattle feed hay] that are down. Tractors, cutters, balers can't find parts or their mechanics are buried in other repairs from the spring cutting.

The upside for them, they underbid the cost of diesel. Now they aren't burning any.

#8  Politicians don't understand how fragile the economy is. Covidians moreso.

#7  Alternate headline:

"Covid measures reduce food production efficiency by 25%. Government blames food producers for shortages, higher prices."

Suggests more government.

#6  Kind of makes a person wish they'd held onto their Clunker. Spare parts are all gone as it was the best choice to repair instead of replace when the Covid measures demolished the production to purchase chain.

Sheet Mahn, can't find a single purchase bottle of sweetened and unsweetened iced tea.

To go out and blame the food producers was an absolute dick move, and you end up with bobbleheads saying crap like Big Meat when it is an across the board agriculture problem starting with spare parts and planting essentials. Oh, "Big Meat" will be fine, what you will see suffer are the small and medium producers, with the small producers, who by the way do the neat artisan things, getting shorted out.

#5  I think it was like 6-8 months ago my neighbor was whining about scrap prices being in the basement. I said "just wait..."

Everything is going up, or in short supply.
Part of it is the way the Biden Admin handled their Over-hyped Covid-19/21. An the Socialcrats general lack of understanding how the US Economy works, or their underlying agenda to screw it up.

Then add Profits = Bonuses for CF-CEO's, Regional and Store Mgr., and you have a perfect scenario to screw the customer.

#2  F---ing liars.
Price of everything is soaring - gas, food, housing, meat-produce-dairy-packaged foods, sugar, lumber, steel, aluminum and every other base metal ... and these assholes are still pretending it's a temporary "blip."
