  • Officers found a kilo of cocaine inside the car after he allowed them to search it

  • Later on, they uncovered another kilo of coke, a rifle, a gold-plated gun and nearly $44,000 in cash from two nearby homes in the area

  • A kilo of cocaine, once outside of South America, goes for $10K to $20K

  • The glistening gold-plated gun featured a wreath design on the barrel

  • Anteverde was charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance

  • The charge is punishable by 15 to 99 years in prison and a $250,000 fine

#10  Further clarification: "Pimp guns are carried by the bad boys, tend to be chrome plated or titanium nitride coated (looks gold). Frequently used to end a discussion.
"BBQ guns" generally show up when somebody throws a big BBQ or such and a next door neighbor's brother-in-law has piece he's proud of.
It's that "ooh shiny" thing.
Note that these are metal guns, Glock's need not apply. And extra points are given if in black teflon or ceracoat.

#6  OK, Mercutio, it's a matter of application.
'Pimp guns' and 'barbeque guns' are supposed to be seen and shown off socially. However, pimp guns are also supposed to be used socially. Most BBQ guns are only ever fired in the air (New Years, July 4th, Cinco de Beero, it's Saturday, and the like.)

#5  OK. Being a Yankee, I speak under correction, but can some one of our Texas cousins explain to me the difference between a "pimp gun" and a "barbeque gun"... other than who owns it?

#4  the pimp guns are still popular with the sicarios, when you have more money than sense you have to find crap to spend it on.

#2  Never did care for pimp guns... including the ones advertised in the NRA rag every month.

#1  Thought the gold plated gun went out with Saddam's sons, but bad taste is sort of a universal constant.
