QUESTION: With the USA DEEPLY in Debt. Why are we still reaching for the Stars with TAXPAYER $$$$$$? What new that actually benefits the USA has been learned in 20+ years?

Especially when we have a number of Private Commercial Vendors willing to fund space exploration for profit at no cost to the Taxpapyers.
