At least four people were killed when a car bomb exploded in the Syrian city of Afrin

The blast maimed another six people, the source said.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
has blamed previous kabooms in Afrin on the Syrian Kurdish YPG group, which held the Afrin area until Ottoman Turkish forces seized the region in a cross-border military operation in 2019.

Turkey regards the YPG as a terrorist group tied to the PKK inside its own borders, and has staged incursions into Syria in support of Syrian opposition forces to push it from the Ottoman Turkish frontier.

The YPG views Turkey as an invader and occupying force.
Al Ahram adds:
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the death toll at six, including suspected opposition fighters. The bodies were badly charred, it said.

The explosion hit near the market in the town center not far from a post for the dominant armed group in the area, the Army of Islam, according to the Observatory. It said 12 people were also wounded, including two children.
Rudaw’s take on the story:
The explosion killed four people and wounded six others, North Press Agency (NPA) reported, citing an unnamed source.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported six were killed, including one member of Turkish-backed forces, and another 12 people were injured, including children.

North Press and the Observatory both reported two arrests were made in connection with the bombing.
