Trump wanted to sent 250,000 troops - or half the US Army - to the border to deal with the migrants: Defense Secretary rejected largest use of troops inside the country since the Civil War because Mexico would see it as an act of aggression

[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • Donald Trump wanted to send 250,000 troops to mitigate the southern border in spring 2020 – during the onset of the pandemic

  • Homeland Security Secretary Mark Esper was vehemently against the plan

  • Stephen Miller, the architect of Trump's immigration agenda, first had the idea but didn't push it when Esper wanted to ditch the plan to deploy half the Army

  • At the time, Trump's administration had already started implementing Title 42

  • The provision allows the CDC to turn back migrants during a health emergency

  • The Biden administration is still using Title 42 to send back illegal immigrants

#10  Too many gorditas with zapatos baratos to be otherwise.

Add in Haitians bragging about being handed a stack of cash for a plane ticket and a bus ride.

And now, an estimated 100,000 en route.

I am curious as to why this didn't happen.

#9  Other sources put the number Trump was inquiring about a mix of 20,000 NG's & Regular troops.

Also do some digging into accuser s backgrd. It may explain this.

Also I would rather have US Troops on the border than the est. 1,500,000+ illegals Bidens coup let in with NO CRIMINAL OR TERRORIST BACKGROUNDS checks now spread all over the USA & not locatable waiting for orders or opportunities.

#8  anyone walking a few hundred miles to get here

AFAICT they mostly walk just the last few hundred yards, after having been transported most of the way by charities or enemies.

#6  Mexico allows cartel armed vehicles to fire into the US(Texas is part of the US, for the time being). I think a few apache gunships could deter that w/o harming immigrants. As far as i am concerned anyone walking a few hundred miles to get here should be respected. If it is woman with a child welcome them. If it is a guy with tattoos on his face or neck. Well ...

#4  More n more it appears we're under some sort of Treaty of Versailles arrangement where the US is not allowed to defend itself in any way, in any scenario.

#3  The one thing not allowed in the modern military is an easily supplied mission with clear objectives. It doesn't allow for "mission creep" (i.e. doing whatever you want) and there's the danger things will stay within budget.

#2  Who cares if Mexico would see it as an act of aggression? They can't seem to defeat the cartels, anyone really think they would want to war with the US?

#1  Illegal = "undocumented"
Defending your border = "an act of aggression"
