JFK-to-California flight diverted to Denver after attack on flight attendant
2021-10-29
[NYPOST] A flight from New York City to Southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, made an emergency landing after a passenger attacked a flight attendant Wednesday evening.

American Airlines Flight 976 from Kennedy Airport to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana was diverted to Denver following the altercation, the airline said.

The plane landed safely and the suspect was arrested.

"The individual involved in this incident will never be allowed to travel with American Airlines in the future, but we will not be satisfied until he has been prosecuted to the full extent of the law," a statement provided to The Post read.

"Our thoughts are with our injured flight attendant and ensuring that she and her fellow crew members have the support they need at this time."

The flight took off from Queens just before 5 p.m. and landed in Colorado at 6:43 p.m. local time, according to Flightview, a tracking website.

Airlines have experienced a surge in violent mostly peaceful incidents during the COVID-19 pandemic, with thousands reported to the FAA.

#10  Ima thinkin' I'd take a Greyhound before I set foot anywhere near a Spirit Airlines flight.

Maybe with their labor shortages and COVID-frenzy the major airlines are starting to smell like teen Spirit?

#7   I wouldn't sentence the hardest criminal to riding an interstate bus. That's under cruel and unusual punishment.

I took a Greyhound Cincinnati-Buffalo, NY so I could drive back with my mother in her car when she moved down here a few years ago. I found it reasonably pleasant.

#6  The problem with the "get tough" approach is we all know how it would be used. Slide that mask to the side to take a sip of water? A flight attendent will call you on it. And you know that sooner or later somebody is going to bark back at the attendant and BOOM--here come the "get tough" penalties.

#5  As much as I hate to suggest this, a no-fly list across all airlines and mandatory six-figure fines need to be a thing for these idiots. When you have to take Greyhound from NYC to LA a few times as you contemplate a paystub for $150 bucks, you'll have plenty of time to reflect upon your sins.

On the other hand, riding an interstate bus, he would be around his "peeps."

#4  /\ Exactly Mike. Imagine where we would be if it not for pre-boarding security screening.
