'Let's set an age limit!' Elon Musk suggests introducing a BAN on over 70s from running for office that would see Joe Biden and Donald Trump barred from seeking second term |
2021-12-03 |
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Elon Musk has suggested that there should be a ban on politicians running for office over the age of 70, in a pointed barb at some of the nation's top leaders. Musk, who turned 50 this June, tweeted on Thursday: 'Let's set an age limit after which you can't run for political office, perhaps a number just below 70 …' The infamous provocateur, who with a $300 billion fortune is considered the richest man in history, did not elaborate on who he thought was too old. Joe Biden, at 79, is the oldest president in history and is frequently mocked on Fox News for his age. Donald Trump, now 75, is said to be considering a 2024 run: he would be 78 on election day - a year older than Biden when he was elected president. |

#21 How about remembering Elon that soon we will be forced to pass laws regarding wealth accumulation limits. |

#20 Y’all completely missed it. What number is a bit less than 70? 69! Nice (as the online hipsters say). It was a JOKE, a troll, by Musk. And far too many people are taking it seriously. Jeez gullible people, especially the press. |

#18 Jury duty type politicians not jerks who want the job. “The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them. To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.” - Douglas Adams - Resturant at the end of the Universe |

#14 If our federal government was operating as originally designed, it wouldn’t matter so much who was president. |

#13 Nah. How about a lifetime maximum of 20 years in elected or appointed office? |

#10 Trump showed no signs of age issues no matter what they said. Biden showed signs and it was all covered up. Age isn't the actual issue. |

#6 Not Yet, Nylon (Elon) 10 RICHEST MEN IN HISTORY (LIST) I vote NO to an age limit; even though the US Constitution sets age limits for running for office, better a mandatory 360 degree, North, South, East, West, Spherical Examination of ANY Candidate, two years before their announcement for any office. Like an Application for Federal Employment - SF 171, with nothing left out. |

#3 I don't age is an issue. The issue is Deep State offering up who they select as who you get to 'choose'. 82 or 52 in that case it doesn't matter. |

#2 Yes, it's hard to argue that as the pace of change accelerates only people with extensive knowledge of how things used to be are most fit to govern. Hell, half of them are on a mission to wipe out history already. |
