[LB] The Lugansk People's Republic Defense Ministry said on Sunday that Ukrainian forces in the area of the Ukrainian 58th Brigade were planning a false flag drone strike, according to Lugansk official news releases. The provocation, as the spokesman for the Lugansk People's Republic termed it, is planned for the village of Muratovo, which is about two kilometers north of the North Donetsk River. The location is well north of the line of contact. The plan is to drop explosives in a civilian area, then claim Russian speaking separatists for the attack. Only two days before, Ukrainian forces west of Donetsk city, in the Donetsk breakaway republic, sent a drone which dropped an explosive device atop a bus stop shelter. One separatist was killed and another wounded when the device exploded, according to data supplied by the Donetsk People's Republic Ministry of Defense. In a subsequent report, the Donetsk MoD said that Donetsk electronic and air defense (ELINT) units intercepted another attack drone, the target of which reportedly was a hospital. That announcement said that the ELINT unit had tapped into the drone's control channel to force it to land. In a separate report, the Donetsk Ministry of Defense said that Ukrainian forces had not fired any artillery on Sunday. More on Lugansk According to a news article which appeared in the online edition of lb.ua, Russian speaking separatists fired on Ukrainian froces in teh area of Popasna and Katerynivka, using automatic grenade launchers and small arms fire. Reportedly there were no casualties. Ukrainians said they returned fire, which effectively ended the gunfire exchange.
