I truly don't understand why Republicans would vote to approve *any* government funding…

Because in ever aid, assistance or funding package, a certain amount comes back in the form of kickbacks.

#8  I truly don't understand why Republicans would vote to approve *any* government funding until a return to some sort of fiscal sanity was embraced by the other side. They're NOT required to rollover...they simply choose to do so.

#7  The Kalorama Kompound (a stupid fixation on the right to rival Q@non on the left) is a nematode under the microscope compared to the Beltway Bandits at NorthrupGrumman, Boeing, Raytheon and the rest. People foaming about Kalorama (look, a squirrel) are part of the problem, not the solution.

#6  What a hero.

Why on earth are we funding a foreign country's defense? What are they, broke or something? They can well afford it themselves! Our people are suffering and THIS is what our Congress thinks a good use of our money!?!

#5  insisting that funding come out of US assistance to Afghanistan

Nice job burying the lede there. If this not-so-minor proviso were referenced in the headlines, Rand Paul would be a national hero and household name in this country.

#3  /\ "assistance to Afghanistan"

I believe "assistance" was how it all began over 20+ years ago. In fact, US "assistance" appears to be common denominator in many global conflicts, or am I wrong ?

#2  Well, first off, there should be no "assistance to Afghanistan." After that, I can think of a couple hundred gummint programs that should be raided to get the money.
