#2  They have been relentless in closing down refineries and now are shocked, *Shocked!* that it makes the entire system more vulnerable to accidents.

#1  The US political machine has spent the last fifteen years or so trying to destroy the oilfield and in the process has removed all the slack and margin for error that existed in the system.

THAT is why you'll get $ 4 a gallon. Not because of the fire, but because we screwed up the system so that it would be vulnerable to failure points like the fire.
