#4 Long Covid looks an awful lot like a variety of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. CFS most often is triggered by an immune system overreaction to an infection — any infection. According to the NIH Studies have given a current prevalence rate ranging from 0.007% to 2.8% in the general adult U.S. population and from 0.006% to 3.0% in the primary care population. Whether or not Long Covid is eventually included as CFS depends on whether most cases resolve within a year or so, within three years, or never. If within a year, it’s just a slow healing version of Covid, if within three it’s a benign version of CFS, if never — typical CFS. |
