DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Several trucks loading military reinforcements and logistical supplies coming from the Syria-Iraq border through al-Bukamal city in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, sent to Iran-backed factions on Saturday.
The first shipment headed to a warehouse in al-Naser center in Bour Sa’id street in Deir ez-Zor while the second was distributed to Fortress of Rabah in al-Mayadin city and to Imam Ali Air Base in al-Bukamal city, the source added. Syrian government forces’ checkpoints blocked al-Bukamal-Deir ez-Zor route “In order to keep residents from knowing what was on the trucks,” the source noted.
Since late 2017, factions affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been deployed west of the Euphrates River and parts east of it which previously were under the control of the Islamic State Organization(ISIS) that recruited thousands of local young people in its ranks, according to reports.
