Mutual shelling between government and opposition groups

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The de-escalation zone in northwest Syria witnessed on Wednesday mutual shelling between the Syrian government forces and the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions.

The opposition factions’ sites in the towns of al-Fatira, Kafr Oweid, Sufuhn, al-Bara, Benin and Kasanfra, south Idlib, were hit with artillery and missiles by the government forces stationed in the surrounding checkpoints, military sources of the Syrian opposition told North Press.

Syrian government forces targeted opposition movements in the villages and towns of Ajel, Taqad, Tadil and the outskirts of Kafr Noran, west of Aleppo, without reports of casualties, according to the same sources.

Meanwhile, the government forces’ sites in the village of Urm-al-Soghra, west of Aleppo, were bombed by al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, North Press reported a source in the National Liberation Front.

“The other sites of the government forces’ sites in the villages of Bastroun, Tala and the 46 Regiment west of Aleppo, and al-Malajah and Hantoteen in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, were also targeted with Heavy machine guns and field cannons by the opposition factions, ” the sources added.

Over the past 48 hours, the de-escalation zones in northwest Syria have witnessed escalation of mutual shelling between opposition factions and Syrian government forces in different areas, amid intense flight of Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the region.
