DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, an ISIS militant was killed and another was wounded in a clash with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria. A military source from the SDF in the town of al-Zar, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that the Deir ez-Zor Military Council fighters clashed with ISIS militants who tried to target an SDF military point in the town of al-Zar in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The one-hour long attack resulted in the killing of an ISIS militant and the injury of another, the source added. “The gunmen were the ones who had attacked a military point of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council forces on February 10, which resulted in the killing of five SDF members,” the source added. ISIS, through media outlets close to it, claimed the attack on the military point in the town of al-Shuhail and issued a statement about the operation. Two days ago, two SDF members were wounded in an attack with automatic weapons that targeted their car near al-Attal roundabout in the town of al-Shuhail in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
