| SDF dismantles drug network in Raqqa |

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said its special forces dismantled an illegal drug network in Syria’s northern city of Raqqa. On its official Facebook account, the SDF shared confessions of two persons identified as Mahammad al-Badr and Mustafa al-Badr from Raqqa who were members of the network. The SDF said the two persons were arrested during a raid conducted on several houses in Raqqa neighborhoods. The two admitted they were drug dealers and used to get the narcotics from a person based in Aleppo city where the Syrian government forces are in control. The drugs were transferred to Raqqa in packages hidden between food stuff. On February 22, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) arrested a group of drug dealers in Tabqa city in the western countryside of Raqqa. Reporting by Omar Alloush |
