Russian troops drop unguided bombs on Ukrainian cities.
2022-03-09
[Ukrinform] This is reported by the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with reference to the testimony of one of the captured Russian servicemen.

On March 5, an enemy Su-34 plane, which had been bombing residential areas of Chernihiv, was shot down over the territory of Ukraine. The crew managed to eject. A navigator of the enemy plane died. A pilot was taken prisoner. His name is Alexander Krasnoyartsev, Major, 1st Class Pilot, Chief of Air, Fire and Tactical Training of the 2nd Mixed Aviation Regiment of the 21st Mixed Aviation Division of the Russian Armed Forces (Shagol Airport, Chelyabinsk city).

Krasnoyartsev testified that the Russian military command deliberately gave orders to bomb civilian infrastructure facilities and residential areas of Ukrainian cities.

At the same time, not high-precision weapons are used for strikes, as claimed by Russian military leaders and propagandists, but unguided bombs OFAB-250-270, FAB-500, OFZAB-500. This results in significant civilian casualties and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. Such bombings are another obvious crime committed by the Russian army against the humanity.

#6  Late in the paragraph, we learn that the hospitals are still open, but some of them have broken windows from shelling in the city.

Most of those hospitals have been hit w/Grad rockets and artillery. They won't level large buildings but will kill and wound people, destroy equipment and supplies and contaminate sterile areas. The medical personnel will have to work with what remains since the indiscriminate shelling creates even more casualties.

#5  That info was 2 days old. Add a few more bombed hospitals. Feel better now?

Just like the number the of destroyed tanks or aircraft, it is the best accumulation of reports that the Ukrainian government has at that moment in time.

#4  Sixty one hospitals - a very specific number which makes it more believable compared to "a bunch of hospitals". Late in the paragraph, we learn that the hospitals are still open, but some of them have broken windows from shelling in the city.

No, I'm not taking sides. I just like to know when someone is trying to sell me something.

#3  Would you believe a maternity hospital? How about 61 hospitals?

#2  Don't tell me, let me guess. They hit a wedding celebration? A baby milk factory?

With a gun held to his head?
