West Point cadets overdosed from fentanyl-laced cocaine in Florida: Report
2022-03-12
[Washington Examiner] A group of West Point cadets allegedly overdosed on fentanyl-laced cocaine while in Florida on spring break.

Wilton Manors Police and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials responded to a call Thursday evening, and seven people were hospitalized, according to WSVN, a local news outlet. The students were West Point cadets on the football team, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

A bit more and a few fotos at the NYP.

#9  Of course, upon release from the hospital, tey will resign from the Academy, enlist and sign the paperwork to begin repaying their educational costs to date, or have a check ready on departure from the barracks? After all, Honor Code and all that...." a cadet does not lie, cheat or steal, or tolerate those that do!"

The academies used to be the only real amateur athletics in the system.

Long gone are the days when people like Dwight Eisenhower faced off with Jim Thorpe on the amateur gridiron.

#6  /\ Only keep the programs if they drop to a lower division. Leave the "Semi-Pro Farm" Division 1 and 1A and all of its corruption.

#5  ...Sadly, the Black Knights are every bit as dirty as any NCAA team, and have been for a long time. Annapolis too, and the only reason the USAFA Falcons aren't that bad is that they've never been able to recruit the talent.

The academies need to 86 their football programs. They do nothing but bring in more questionable cadets than good and turn out officers who have a difficult time with concepts like 'honor' and 'duty'.
