Whatever became of the guy who handed Hunter Biden's laptop to the FBI?
2022-03-13
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Computer repair shop owner who handed Hunter Biden's laptop to the FBI says he's lost his business and is on verge of bankruptcy after liberal intimidation campaign which resulted in death threats
  • John Paul Mac Isaac says he's since lost his store and now faces bankruptcy, after being victimized in an intimidation campaign once his findings went public

  • 'I was getting a lot of death threats,' John Paul Mac Isaac, owner of The Mac Shop in Wilmington, said Saturday

  • 'I had to have a Wilmington trooper parked in front of my shop all the time,' he revealed to the New York Post, who first reported on the contents of the laptop

  • Files found in Biden's personal computer included emails showing shady business dealings by the current US president's son with foreign officials

  • After weeks of being approached and harassed by multiple mysterious figures, Mac Isaac was forced to close down the shop and flee the state in Nov. 2020

#7  The "Abandoned Laptop" is still the property of the Owner UNTIL they are contacted, or there is a legal notice run in the Legal Section of the local Newspaper.

I have a vague recollection that the laptop's owner was contacted, but said owner never actually did anything about it. I am too lazy to go and check, though.

#6  You'd have thought this guy could have made a lot of money selling his copy of the hard drive.

1st of all to clarify I am NOT defending HUNTER.

I am addressing only the issue of proper handling of customer assets and the part why the guy's customer dumped him.

I myself, having been "invited" to do "legal" ITSEC/TCSM since 1988. The one thing I learned is to Guard and Control your customer's data.

The "Abandoned Laptop" is still the property of the Owner UNTIL they are contacted, or there is a legal notice run in the Legal Section of the local Newspaper.

The name Hunter Biden alone surely allowed alternative avenues of contact.

#4  Breach of trust? Hunter Biden abandoned his laptop. The owner went through it after it became his property.

Moreover there are lots of anti-cheese pizza laws on the books. Repair shops are doing a disservice if they don't scan your hard drive for CP. Lots of pedos got busted this way.

But, now the flip side of the coin this is not being addressed.

When we hand over a broken computer to a Repair shop we are "trusting" them with our lives contents. READING & releasing that data is a breech of that trust.

If he wasn't in it for the fame and/or wrongfully trusting the BIDEN DOJ/FBI. Then he should have quietly passed the data to a Q-Anon type source for release.
