| Asayish and SDF arrest wanted in Hasakah |

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria (Asayish) managed to arrest a number of suspects and wanted during a security operation to pursue ISIS sleeper cells in the southern countryside of Hasakah, northeast Syria. “The SDF and Asayish launched a broad security operation on Saturday dawn that targeted definite persons suspected of dealing with ISIS,” a military source of the SDF told North Press. The source added that during the operation, wanted and suspected people were arrested, preferred not to mention the number, indicating that they will be subjected to investigation. The military operation, supported by the US-led Global Coalition drones, started from al-Arisha district, passing through Shaddadi and Markada, reaching the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. With the operation started, the Asayish demanded the residents stay at home until it ends for safety’s sake. The operation targeted more than 50 sites in different areas in Hasakah southern countryside, according to the source. The operation came within the framework of pursuing ISIS sleeper cells following the recent attack on al-Sina’a prison in Guweiran neighbourhood in Hasakah city on January 20.
