Covid Infections Rising Again in Europe, UK -the BA.2 variant |
2022-03-15 |
Two weeks after the United Kingdom dropped its last remaining Covid-19 mitigation measure -- a requirement that people who test positive for the virus isolate for five days -- the country is seeing cases and hospitalizations climb once again. Covid-19 cases were up 48% in the UK last week compared with the week before. Hospitalizations were up 17% over the same period. The country's daily case rate -- about 55,000 a day -- is still less than a third of the Omicron peak, but cases are rising as fast as they were falling just two weeks earlier, when the country removed pandemic-related restrictions. Daily cases are also rising in more than half of the countries in the European Union the UK Health Security Agency said BA.2 had an 80% higher relative growth rate than the original Omicron strain |

#6 Alex Berenson, All the idiocy of Covid and vaccine mandates in one neat package: unvaccinated Kyrie Irving can sit courtside but isn't allowed to play basketball |

#5 Remember how Joe declared he wanted 75% of the US vaccinated by July last year? Instead, the number has been stuck at 60% since well before then. That's probably a hard ceiling, short of coerced at gunpoint vaccination. |

#4 So do we have yet another new strain and one that is more tolerant of slightly warmer weather? Some additional facts to chew on.... UK COVID-19 Also interesting to notehere we have a country with 64.8 Million residents, with 140.4 Million vaccinations given. Yet still continues to see interesting C-19/22 infection numbers. Either way, as predicted, arriving just in time for a massive US Media Panic and likely new "LSD creative" Mid-Term Voting processes. |

#3 If it's a previous (or similar) variant it will pass. It is likely a new variant, mostly immune to the current vaccines. Good excuse for more interventional measures(economic, political etc.) And for a new vaccine and associated mandates. |

#2 Any increase at all will be a "dangerous surge..." |

#1 Oooohhh, scary. Meanwhile, in the US, "Serious/Critical" cases (hospitalizations) have fallen from just over 26,000 on Jan. 22 to just over 4,000 yesterday. 51 days of non-stop decline. |
