| [UK's Independent] Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has addressed the US Congress virtually after being invited by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. He received a standing ovation when he appeared on the screen before lawmakers. During his remarks he called on the US to remember Pearl Harbour and the September 11 terrorist attacks as it sees the people of Ukraine attacked and killed by Russian forces. The Ukrainian president told lawmakers in his wartime address to Congress on Wednesday that Ukraine “experiences the same every day” now as America did during its own darkest days. Mr Zelensky also asked Congress for Soviet-made air defence systems and fighter jets as an alternative to a Nato-enforced humanitarian no-fly zone over his country’s airspace. US and Nato officials have so far declined his pleas for a no-fly zone over Ukraine because such a measure would place Nato warplanes at risk of direct engagement with Russian aircraft, raising the possibility of a nuclear confrontation. LAter today President Joe Biden is expected to announce $800m (£612m) of aid to the eastern European country, a sum that would bring the total aid sent to Ukraine in the last week alone to $1bn. Mr Biden is also reportedly considering providing Ukraine with US-made drones, including the recently developed so-called “loitering missile” system known as Switchblade. Drones have played a major part in Ukraine’s defence against the Russian assault, in particular TB2 drones supplied by Turkey. |

Emotional manipulation must not overcome stalwart reasoning about what is and is not America's genuine national security interest. The Demokrats who orchestrated this well done appeal from a brave man who wants us to save his country were using every tool in the political playbook to make the issue dominate the media coverage and overwhelm the looming catastrophe that is the MidTerm election. The ruination of their control of the federal government is assured if our short attention span citizens can see the consequences of what one year of Marxism has done. That desperation has them transforming a epic tragedy in Urkraine into a purported crisis demanding our total attention while it suppresses awareness of the disaster that is the Bidet Administration off the media for the next few months. 10+% percent inflation, food shortages, rising unemployment, urban crime, gas prices, the inundation of our nation by millions and millions of illegals, the billions and billions of wasted funds on Covid and stimulus, 31 trillion in national debt, tripling in the past twelve years, the looming collapse of the dollar as world reserve currency, the Durham investigation, massive proof of voter irregularities, CRT, incessant race-baiting, educational catastrophes for our kids, all this is hidden beneath the combat footage, refugee stories and massive destruction in a place that not one American in ten can find on a map. The adults left in citizenry must not let this community-organizer manipulation succeed! |

| #9 I hate to point it out, but most of the people in charge thought we deserved 9/11 and were against punitive missions, and totally against a protracted affair. They are also self-described "Anti-Racists" who teach that the military response to Pearl Harbor was based on racism. |

| #2 'Stand-off' capabilities mean Russia doesn't have to fly over Ukrainian airspace to create havoc. AAA systems that reach above 14,000 AGL are needed, but are not the ultimate solution. 1L221E Counter-battery radar systems could make a difference also. It is getting a little late in the game howver. |

Haven't watched the video yet. I might not watch it at all. Zelensky's plea for a no-fly zone has cost him all the sympathy I might have had for him. I can't help all the things that the likes of John McCain told Ukrainians but the idea that America will enter WWIII for the sake of his ass is so ludicrous that I really don't care what he says anymore. I think he should make a deal with Putin to avoid any further loss of life and destruction. |
