DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Two Syrian government soldiers were killed, on Wednesday, in an IED explosion that targeted their car in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria. An IED unknown individuals planted in a dirt route, which leads to a military point of the Air Force Intelligence, exploded when a military vehicle loading logistical supplies passed by, a military source of the 4th Armored Division affiliated with the Syrian government in al-Asharah town, 55 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press. The explosion claimed lives of two soldiers, who hailed from the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, who were inside the car, in addition to damaging the car, the source added. Despite the intensive combing campaigns, areas in the Syrian desert and the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor increase concerns of Iran-backed militias and the government forces because those areas occasionally witness operations launched by the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) sleeper cells causing massive loses for the government forces and the militias. On March 7, several government forces’ members were killed and wounded in a missile attack carried out by unknown on a military point of the government forces in the town of Boqrus east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
