Alabama apologizes for asking man to give up 'Let's go Brandon' license plate
2022-03-17
[Washington Exmaner] The specialized license plate, for which he paid $700 last year, had initially been recalled, and the department sent a letter saying it considered the license plate — which reads "LGBF JB," implicitly representing "Let's Go Brandon F*** Joe Biden" — to be "offensive to the peace and dignity of the State of Alabama."

The original letter says Kirk’s registration for the personalized license plate would not be issued or renewed and that he would have to return the plate within 10 days or face fines ranging from $500 to $1,000, in addition to having the vehicle’s registration revoked.

Following a wave of media coverage of the license plate, which is yellow and features the "Don’t Tread on Me" Gadsden flag design, Kirk said the department had a change of heart.

"State sent a letter saying, not quote, but, 'We're sorry, Mr. Kirk. We really apologize. You're a lot bigger and stronger than us,'" Kirk joked on The Line with Andrew McLain podcast Monday.

Kirk claimed the "F" in his license plate does not stand for a curse word but instead means "forget." He argued that the state cannot prove otherwise, according to AL.com.

#6  ^ Usually, the states hide behind the explanation that the people who make the decisions are shielded from public attention for safety and reasons, and that they also equally deny stuff that's objectionable to all political and religious viewpoints. Blah, blah, blah...

#5  The story here is the Alabama did the right thing. I wonder if the state's motivation was avoiding publicity and lawsuits.

#3  It doesn't say Let's Go Brandon.
It says LGBF JB.
The rest is between your ears. :)

Ask any southern and they will tell you we far exceed Yankees in manners, courtesy, and even still hold doors for Seniors and Ladies.

Plus its commonly known the best college football teams are all in Southern lacking Transgender players. ☺

Regarding the Lic. plate and the AL. DMV.
It was likely initiated by some "Half Back" Liberal that loves Absent minded Yankee Politicians.

"Half Back" defined: A Northeast Yankee that moved to Fla. and then decided to move 1/2 way back. Bringing their liberal politics with them.
