#10  You’ve mentioned it before, Fat Bob Thereter1848. I think in terms of Kamala Harris’s presidential run.

#9  Totally cynical people. They're happy to side with Putin, like they took the side of the Soviets. But then, they're no different in this regard from most nations outside the self-righteous West

#8  I gather the wife is one of the 5% competent ones. The family, too much of a stretch?

#7  So.. does that mean that in the USA we should consider Indians at high positions in the US business and government to be potential 5th column?

Potential? Allowing large numbers of Indians into this country was a mistake. Putting them in high managerial positions in major corporations was an even bigger mistake. I've worked with and around Indians since the late 80's Only about 5% are really competent.

And here is a fact that cannot be disputed. An Indian in managerial position will only hire Indians in this order: family, village, cast, gotra/sub-gotra, nationality.

I can say this because I'm a white man married to an Indian for 20 years, been to India 30 times in that span. My father in and some my male cousins in law sat me down and explained in detail about India and Indians. Pops was a retired Indian Air Force Wing Commander from the Medical Corp.

#6  Stealing property and freezing assets from a nation that's not at war with you: there's a great way to make every country think twice about ever trusting your legal and banking system again

#5  The best comment was on Instapundit two days ago: "I feel very emotional about this; so we should take drastic action without considering any of the consequences."

All the financial and economic histrionics and actions against Russia were bound to make other countries think twice about trusting the international systems and institutions that had been built up painstakingly over the past few decades. Why wouldn't China, India, and many others think that they don't want to be held hostage to the latest fashionable hysteria in Washington, DC?

#3  3dc: our government talks out of all four sides of their mouths on both their faces. They work for decades at a time on deindustrialization and then turn around and expect sanctions to matter after giving Vlad 30 billion a month _net profits_ for being the only guy allowed to make money in the awl industry.
