  • Last year he filed to enter this November's election

  • In Congress, he was known for directing billions of dollars of federal money to Alaska, the largest state in the country but with one of the smallest populations

#6  I don't dare give on thin dime to the GOP as long as there are RINOs (Liz, Mittens) or same old, same old (Graham, McConnell) types. When the lines are blurred between Dem and GOP, you know there's a problem.

Meanwhile, term limits, anyone?

#5  He was as GOPe as GOPe gets. Maybe it's bad form to bring that up at this time. The next question will be, is he replaced by someone even more GOPe, a Murkey clone, or Heaven Forbid, a dem.

Aside from that bullet point being absurdly irrelevant, I suppose we can say that it WAS in late 2020...and a man in his late 80's survived COVID.

88. An absolutely good run. RIP.

#3  Representative Young's 88 was a very good run. It's appointed unto man once to die, then the final performance report.

#2  At 88, you have to say that "he died of having lived" (Willa Cather).

And, DM, did it kill him? In 2022?
