#24  #22 Russian has more fun

They asked, was I proud? I said, nyet!
I drank and I whored and I bet...
But small portion I spend
On munitions and men...
And this waste I sincerely regret.

#23  Oh, it's a Russian version of 'Facebook', LOL.

I'll stay far away from it, thanks.

#22  The end result is the same, but the Russian has more fun before being found out.

#21  This brings the question: Which is worse, Arab "ensha'Allah and sell the parts via my uncle" maintenance or Russian "divert funds to buy my own dacha and stock it with booze and mistress" maintenance?

#20  Yes, everything is bad news for the US. Russia's failure is especially bad news for the nation that has ruled the oceans since WWII.

(Never mind that Russia has never really been a naval power.)

#19  The Week - The sinking of Russia's flagship might be a bad sign for the U.S. Navy

#18  For comparison, and since we haven't had many cruiser sinkings lately, here is the pretty well-known photo of the IJN Mikuma after getting pasted by US carrier planes at Midway. 5 or 6 bomb hits.

#17  It's sunk. I leave it to those tasked / interested to sort the details. I like the bottom line.

#16  Concur w/#5&6: another fun fact; early on in thevideo a part of the aircraft filming the sinkex is visible and it sure looks loe theaft end of the landing gear sponson of a SH-3H helicopter. Dont think we exported any of those to Russia or Ukraine.

'How the hell did you allow the Moskva to be sunk?': TV anchor dubbed 'Putin's voice' rages at Russian navy over flagship's loss as Kremlin still refuses to say how many sailors died
Y'all fucked around and found out.

#14  Take where Covert Shores thinks the missile hit and move it forward about ten meters and that's where I think it hit.

#13  I spent a lot of time looking at the actual photos and I think one of the missiles hit the forward superstructure, probably at the aft end of it, and that's why it looked like a lot of the electronics were blown off of it.

#12  Says Russian military correspondent Boris Rozhin:
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited:

Damage is visible in the central part of the ship and the ongoing fire in the interior.

To the versions - anti-ship missiles, mines, safety violations, today there was also added a version of the spontaneous launch of one of the S-300 air defense missiles, which led to the detonation of a part of the BC in the central part of the ship.

We are waiting for the conclusions of the commission on the reasons for the death of the ship.

#11  Looks like a hit aft of the missile launchers. I don’t think a cruise middle hit into the launcher would have ended as well unless the launcher box is all armor.

#7  There's no missile tubes on the deck, no helipad aft, the forward superstructure is too wide, etc.

Some other mod came along and added the video...

#5  ...Friends,

I don't think that's Moskva in the twitter video, at least not all the way through. If you freeze-frame it at the 0:13 mark, that's a former USN DDG (missile destroyer) on the wrong end of a SINKEX. If you look from left to right where the water is coming up the deck, you see an armored box launcher for USN's ASROC anti-sub missile, and aft of the deckouse is unmistakably a USN Mk42 'frog eye' 5" gun turret.
