#2 Bones were taken off the nuke role years ago as part of a SALT arrangement. The wiring needed for that role was removed. |

#1 Question: When they ground a Nuclear Weapons delivery fleet, aren't they hamstringing US Response? Number built & Date: B-1A: 4x 1973–1974, B-1B: 100x 1983–1988 As you might note, the assembly dates for many of these planes are 30+ years old. At what point does the USAF scrap & modernize? Well they are still upgrading B-52's that were built between 1952–1962. Thats 60+ years ago. |
