Russian defense ministry facility in the southern Belgorod region bordering Ukraine catches fire |
2022-05-02 |
One person was injured in a fire on a Russian defense ministry facility in the southern Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, Belgorod region governor said on Sunday. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said a local resident suffered minor injuries and his life was not in danger. There were no immediate comments from the defense ministry. Images posted to social media showed a large funnel of smoke rising above the ground. Rooters could not verify the reports. Separately, governor of the Kursk region which also shares a border with Ukraine said that a railway bridge had been damaged on a line used by freight trains. Speaking in a video posted on his Telegram channel, governor Roman Starovoit called the incident an act of sabotage. Russia last month accused Ukraine of a helizap on a fuel depot in Belgorod, for which Kyiv denied responsibility, as well as shelling villages and firing missiles at an ammunition depot. Other Russian regions that share a border with Ukraine have also reported cross-border shelling incidents since Moscow sent thousands of troops into Ukraine on February 24 in what it called a "special military operation." #9 Frank, they think they're being "clever" because we're supposed to suddnely support Putin because the corrupt assholes Biden and Obama are pretending to oppose him all the way to their bank accounts. The mere fact that they pay lip service while they've given Putin 300 billion or so over the past year with their energy policies is supposed to be enough, I guess. (I thought Obama was the one who wanted it transmitted to Vladimir that he'd be more flexible for him after the election. I don't wanna know what that means, but it sounds too kinky for me.) |

#4 If accurate, here's a fire near Moscow. To really get a handle on this you'd have to have a baseline number of "how much stuff blows up in Russia during an average year". |

#1 Doesn't take mucho start a fire. Two issues, though; getting away with it, and does it really make a difference? Sabotage the finance office will annoy a lot of people but it's not going to slow down the artillery any time soon. But the artillery ammo dump.... |
