Problem is, so much of this stuff is dual use and can be bought by shell companies without anyone noticing.

Also the shellacking the Russians are getting also shows (along with a myriad of other factors) they aren't getting very much value for their money for these anyway.

SENSELESS Ad HOMINEM ATTACK REDACTED British companies were selling 'dual purpose' (can be used for both military or peaceful uses) technology - vehicles and parts, lasers, IT, nuclear components, personal defence equipment to Russia up until February. All legit according to government rules and covered by export licences.
