Nina Totenberg: It 'makes sense' Supreme Court leaker a 'conservative clerk'
2022-05-09
[BIZPACREVIEW] In a display of mudslinging disguised as journalism, one NPR news hound maintained her track record of laying unsubstantiated claims related to the Supreme Court when she dismissed any other possible origin for the SCOTUS leak other then a "conservative clerk who was afraid."

NPR’s legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg appeared on ABC’s "This Week" Sunday where she was asked to assess the situation surrounding the release of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft majority opinion for the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Host Martha Raddatz brought her guest into the segment by commenting on the lengthy duration for which Totenberg has covered SCOTUS.

#14  I suspect the leaker is some low level employee in the printing office that happened to read the first few pages and realized what they were printing.

#13  It's possible that it was a progressive clerk who leaked and that the progressives said the clerk was a conservative--a SCROtUS Reichstag fire.

#12  ^ She's "frequently wrong, but never uncertain"

#11  Totenberg was the person behind the 'mask controversy in the SCOTUS' story.

After all the people in her report had stated that her facts were wrong she stood by her reporting and NPR stood by her.

One of the many low points in NPR

#10  I continue to enjoy the tin-foil hat conspiracy mind games, so consider this:

The leak is not in fact from anyone in the court, liberal or conservative, but rather from an IT hacker with world class tools, experience and access. Motive being the further disruption and internecine hatred rending the fabric of American society. Deep state or ChiCOM, Iranian or Ruskie, I suspect all of them have opportunity, motive and means.

#9  Based on my 40+ years experience in the workplace, "it makes sense" is what you say when you have zero support for your position. No facts, no data, no research, no work at all in fact. That is when you say, "It just makes sense."

#8  Everyone, justices included, should have been ordered to turn in their cellies for forensic examination. Discovery should not have taken more than a day or so.

#7  If that 'makes sense', then why did one Twitter account ID one of Sotomayor's clerks as the primary suspect within two or three hours, and laid down some compelling evidence about her pro-abortion background?

It only 'makes sense' if you ignore that angle. Then again, I wouldn't put it past Roberts to be the leaker.

#6  All you need do is consider the other things this individual believe 'make sense' and you have your answer.

#5  Roberts will hunt down the leaker like OJ hunted down the 'real killer'.
Posted by: Procopius2k   2022-05-09 07:42

#4  As I said before Roberts is the leaker because they have some dirt on him.

#3  ^Spot on.

#2  If it had been a 'conservative clerk' the left would have made certain we knew their identity before now.
Posted by: Besoeker   2022-05-09 01:42

#1  Suppose the leak *was* from a 'conservative clerk'... assuming such a thing exists. What if it was a false flag op to drive the progressive Dems, which is to say all of them, into a collective frenzy of violent lunatic activity that would make America realize these people are fuggen' nuts and should be nowhere near the levers of power. Or maybe they were crazy to start with. It's hard to say.
